Where Not To Find Breasts

Hi fam! I want to talk a little about Where To Find Breasts. I started the series as a sequel to the Fish Brain Series. And just like similar sequels in the past, my intention of running WTFB is not to make it into a book or even finish it. If you recall, It’s Another Novocaine Saturday and Dear High Mistress didn’t have endings. The reason I put these stories up is to pace myself. Whenever I have them running, just know that I’m working on a book or I’m occupied with work. None of the stories has definitive a plot or a structured storyline that you typically find in books. The only thing is that I already know where the characters are going. But the time to sit and really structure a plot is not there. Having said this, I want to sadly announce that I’m taking a bow…

Read previous episodes of Where To Find Breasts This episode of Where To Find Breasts is dedicated to Oluwakemi Obilade. Happy birthday in arrears! Kyenpia was up before Leonel. He would usually stir at exactly 4:30 a.m. each morning, and she, an hour later. But she hadn’t had a good sleep in three days. Somewhere in Boston, Ishi lay on a hospital bed in an intensive care unit. It didn’t feel right to her that he was there; he had been through so much already. His surgery had gone well but recovery was slow. This drove Kyenpia crazy, and it showed. Her body was terrible at keeping secrets. First, it was the rapid weight loss, then the anxiety attacks that she tried to hide, and now the sleeplessness. Leonel was beginning to ask questions. This was in addition to the passive-aggressiveness he had displayed for five days. “Do we need…

Fiyin listened to the rain outside in silence. She missed times like this when she would sit, just to take in the calm that came with drops of water against hard surfaces. Her life these days was filled with unending activities, and she longed for a timeout. Hiding away at Kyenpia’s home turned out to be a good idea. If she had known she’d get this much rest, she would have done so sooner. But she planned to leave after a week. As much as she loved the serenity of Kyenpia’s house, it was nothing like her home. She needed her privacy and the feel of hard male flesh against her hormone-ridden body. Today, she and Kyenpia had arranged for an early morning walk, but they were presently stuck in her bedroom, listening to the rain from the warmth of a shared blanket. Leonel had been out of town since…

David leaned out from his seat, resting both elbows on his knees and supporting his chin with clasped hands. His mother sat on a couch opposite his. Her long gown rested softly on the floor of the living room. The off-white shade of the gown almost matched the whiteness of the couches in the room that were embroidered with blue silk. The same type of blue in the curtains that held dashes of gold. There was no television here; neither was there a bookshelf. Expensive artworks adorned the walls – all positioned in a manner that could only come from professional hands. David remembered the first time he walked in here and how he stared at the walls until he found a story in each painting and got absorbed by the exquisiteness of it, appreciating that the room itself was art. This reminded him of Emem and their childhood home.…

Fiyin’s front door was open, which wasn’t an unusual thing. She had never seen reason to take security seriously. Kyenpia had scolded her many times in the past over being halfhearted about her safety. She always reminded her of her financial status and how it made her a soft target for kidnappers. Leonel had also talked to her about hiring a bodyguard, but Fiyin laughed it off and told him that it was ridiculous. He had still gone ahead to send a security guard to man her gate and secure her house. He told Kyenpia that he was disappointed in Fiyin’s parents for taking their daughter’s safety so lightly. His conclusion was that they didn’t care about her. Kyenpia agreed with him to a certain degree, remembering how much Fiyin’s parents had left her to be all on her own through her formative years. It was ridiculous how they popped…

David could tell how mad Peggy was at him by the way she slept. If she lay on her side, her back to him, she was only a little pissed off. But if she lay on her tummy, it meant war. Last night, they had a minor fight. This morning, he awoke to find her lying face down. From experience, he knew that the best thing to do was to let her be. He brushed his teeth, slipped into casual clothes and left the house to the airport. Four days had gone by since Leonel got the news from Captain about Emem’s other life. A lot had happened in the meantime, especially with Leonel confronting Emem over what Captain had told him. He had hoped that it would turn out to be a lie, but she confirmed that the assertions were true. However, when Leonel probed deeper for more information,…

Ishi wasn’t expecting this much of a sabbatical calm this morning. He was prepared for the stares, the questioning faces, the wariness, but not the silence. It wasn’t that the silence was any different from what he was used to in the past whenever he was up on the stage to minister; it was more of what it meant. This was his first time ministering since he left the church. He was aware that his dereliction had been a disappointment to many, even though he hadn’t come out directly to tell them that he was turning away from the faith. The tabloids had been brutal with the gist about his relationship with Kyenpia, and unlike the previous scandal he had with her, he didn’t deny the rumors this time. It affected his followership, with a good half of his fans drawing conclusions about him. There was no smoke without a…

“You think Aanu did this?” Kyenpia’s voice sounded like it was coming from another space and time. Yenkat wasn’t there with her. She had switched off again, just as she had been doing since Bem broke the news to her. It was an on-and-off thing. Her mind came and went without her being able to control it. She couldn’t process the pain. She didn’t want to. She just wanted to get out of the hospital and resume her life. “She did it,” Yenkat answered Kyenpia’s question in a whisper. “I know what she’s capable of.” “You think it was in the juice? Maybe Bem can do a blood test to confirm.” “He said the likelihood of tracing the pill in my blood is slim, because of the time that had passed since I took the juice…” And off went Yenkat’s mind again. She was blank for a few seconds, but…
