My Thoughts on A Broken People’s Playlist

I didn’t know what to expect when I picked up A Broken People’s Playlist. I mean, I’ve read a couple of Chimeka’s stories before, but as a rule of thumb, I emptied all expectations and went into it with a fresh mind. So, how did it go? I’d like to let you know that I had an interesting journey with it. Chimeka’s writing is special, and this is because I don’t have adequate words to describe it. His art reminds me of a ballerina who dances like a butterfly, light and sprightly, floating over the surface like she couldn’t hurt a fly. But when you look closer at her legs and thighs and see the power of her muscles, strength and skill it takes to make one fluid movement, you begin to appreciate the work it took to get there. That was how my experience with the book went. A…

I’m Leaving On A Jet Plane

I’m not exactly leaving on a jet plane. Lol. But I’ll be gone for a while. A long time. In one of my recent posts, I explained that I no longer have the time I used to have as before. I get so busy these days that I can’t remember when last I slept through the night. There was a time that I could do that and yet write without having to take out special time to do so. Now, I don’t have that luxury anymore. I’ll be going away for at least, six months, starting from now. What this means is that there will be no active series here from me, and once Dugo ends on Instagram, there won’t be any. However, when I return, you’ll get the uncompleted ones in books. So, about Stranger In Lagos, the news is that big publishing came for it. I still can’t…

The Moskeda Book Club

So the survey I ran here a few days ago has been completed. I want to thank everyone who participated and for the feedback that I received. Bless you! I will give you the results in a bit, but first, I want to introduce the Moskeda Book Club to you. We’re on Instagram and it’s not yet begun because I’m working on a few things at the moment. I hope to start it off on the first of August. I’m excited and nervous at the same time because I don’t know what to expect. But I’m sure we’ll find our footing. So the Moskeda Book Club is going to be like any other book club, but with a difference. We will read and share our thoughts on what we read and those thoughts would be published as a collective review here on the site. This is to help people catch…

Roses And Thorns #1

Roses and Thorns is a series by QueenBee Aurora about a writer who meets and falls in love with a man she meet at a book exhibition. But she will find out that the man is not who he seems. She ends her relationship with him, just at the moment she finds out she is pregnant. The series will see through her journey with the pregnancy, her career, and finding a new man. But would she choose the man who is the father of her baby, or the man she truly loves? The airport taxi cab honked in front of a bungalow, and then, a tall, fair skinned woman stepped out of it, dressed in a wide leg jumpsuit. She pushed her long Peruvian weave out of her face and proceeded to knock at the gate. “Who is that?” she heard a woman’s voice inside in…
