The Immortals’ Code #21

Last week’s episode brought us to the end of the first part of The Immortals’ Code. This was where I stopped the last time but have no worries, the story continues. This second part is titled The Rise of the Cabal. It takes you back to the beginning where men were still boys. The story is interwoven with For Better, For Worse. Enjoy. She had no idea what the floor was made of. It sounded like wood beneath her platform shoes, although it shone like brown glass. A FEW MINUTES BEFORE ISHI WAS KIDNAPPED/ ISHI’S NEIGHBORHOOD “Send me a picture of what you’re wearing, baby. I’ve had a rough day and I need to ease my mind.” “You’re such a perv, Leo. I’m pregnant. That shouldn’t turn you on in any way. Besides, I’m tying that wrapper you don’t like.” “Nice.” Leonel smiled. He was sitting in his Jaguar XF across the street from Ishi’s house. ELYON VILLA/ IGWE’S PRIVATE QUARTERS The weather was too cold for Igwe but he was determined to take his evening walk. Dressed in warm clothes, he strode out of his bedroom. An armed guard was standing in the sitting room when he came out and Igwe looked him over intolerantly. “What are you doing here? Where’s Maxwell?” “He asked me to take his place, Your Excellency.” “Please leave.” “Yes, sir.” Igwe watched him leave before he also made his way out. In the anteroom he could hear voices coming from the entrance area that was manned by security guards. The voices belonged to Maxwell and Jamila, Captain’s twin sister. They didn’t sound happy. Igwe strained his ears to listen to their conversation but he caught nothing much. He waited for a short while before they both walked in. He could see on their faces that they were ready to hide…
