Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #30 – Finale

My warm greetings to you, dear readers. I started this journey and you rode to finish with me. In between, I failed to keep my promise. I broke your hearts and earned myself many (unspoken) curses. But it’s important to point out that you were always there. Times without number, I’d decided to dump the story like the rest of the stories I’ve started this way but your comments propelled me onward. This was my first trial of long (episode) story. There were flaws in the beginning and you pointed them to me. I believe with your corrections and participations, I became better. So this is where I draw the curtain to Go Getter. I wouldn’t mind to hear your thoughts on the ending of this story. I’ll admit the story ended abruptly, and maybe not the way it should, but the tunnel it was taking me into was growing…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #29

Miss Sharon’s foster mother and biological father were about getting started on their sex act when a knock came on the door. They paused and fixed a quizzical look at the door. “It’s the next door.” The old woman said to the man in whispers. “I think it’s this door.” He replied. “The rest of the rooms on this floor has no occupant in it.” She didn’t bother to ask how he knew. He had somehow become all knowing. There were many things off about him, so many things he was hiding from her. She didn’t care to know these things. All she wanted was to have him back in her life. “Put on your clothes.” He said, his smiling face becoming stony. She obeyed, and just as she was putting her feet into her slippers, the knock came again. This time, a little impatient. “Shouldn’t we ask who it…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #28

Read previous episodes of Go Getter here There was no more sleep for Cas. He sat on his favourite couch in the sitting room with a half empty bowl of soaked garri in his hands. He had been told that the perfect cure to a raging hangover was soaked garri. He’d tried it a couple of times and it had worked flawlessly. The store was in a mess – pools of puke on almost every area of the floor, in it’s stinking best. He thought of cleaning it up but just thinking about it drained him. He was not strong enough for the task yet. He dropped the bowl of garri and held his head in his hands. Fragments of the dream crept into his mind. He analyzed the dream, focusing more on his role. He had done well enough for a guy who had screwed up things. He had…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #27

Read previous episodes of Go Getter In the dark, Doc Al moved like a bat, he could see every aspect of the people and things in the room. They appeared magnified in his eyes. Ochuko was trying to get up from the ground and retreat to where Sandy was. He understood the way his mind worked – protect others before yourself. He would point out to him later, when the deal was done, that certain circumstances prompted certain responses and principles. He slashed him on the shoulder just as he was completing his rising and he fell back with a yell. One of his hands automatically covered the wound which had become a flowing river of blood. Accuracy, he reminded himself. He had not intended to get him on the shoulder, he had aimed for the neck. He raised his left hand – the hand holding the small knife with…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #26

Read previous episodes of Go Getter It didn’t take up to five minutes for her to find what she needed. It was hanging on the wall at the entrance of the passageway. She pulled it out of its hanger and looked both ways before returning to Lucy’s ward. It was a fire extinguisher. She tried to carry it with one hand and wasn’t quite successful. The heavy object almost slipped off her hand and drew a scream from her. She dropped it gently on the ground and took some time to decide if it was the right implement for the job. It was, and it had to be carried into the room with one hand. She wanted to take them by surprise. She’d gently push open the door with one hand and dart the fire extinguisher at them with the other, it would be difficult but not impossible. They wouldn’t…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #25

Read previous episodes of Go Getter He drove a very far distance away from his house before parking under the awning of a closed Car Wash. His wife wouldn’t bother to come this far, which was, if she was crazy enough to chase after him. The other car was bad anyway. He got out his phone and dialled Casmir. He should be about his duty by now, it was almost 11p.m. He hadn’t been joking when he told him he saw something unique in him, the man was a fighter. He had faith Cas would do all it required to get Sandy back. On his part, he was about doing his possible best to get Sandy from him. The number kept ringing off the hook. He dialled absently for the eighth time, while he went over his plan of possessing Sandy from Cas. The plan was simple – He’d kidnap…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #24 – Repost

Afternoon! I’m reposting this because the one posted on Friday was actually episode 23 and not 24. Please bear with me.Thanks Omotayo for bringing it to my notice. Read previous episodes of Go Getter Things weren’t going to go as easy as she’d thought. Miss Sharon sat quietly in one of the chairs in the reception area and observed. The hospital had four floors and it was extremely busy, unlike Amazing Grace. She could bypass the nurses stationed at the reception, but in what ward was she supposed to find Lucy? She could call Ochuko to ask him the ward his daughter was in, but she already knew his reply. ‘Why are you making thing so difficult for yourself?’ he’d say, ‘meet the nurse at the reception and do as I told you.’ She sighed. She hated to accept defeat, so she sat patiently and watched. Something would come up – a…

Go Getter (Go-Get-Her) #24

Read previous episodes of Go Getter  They’d just had their bath; she with the bathroom in the guest bedroom, him with the bathroom in the master bedroom. Now they sat in the sitting room, side by side, sipping on Iced Tea and watching a muted program on TV. Outside, crickets have taken over chirping from the birds and the sky had only a thin streak of moon as its source of illumination. It was terribly dark, and cold. Ochuko briefly took his eyes off the TV to Sandy, he saw a perfect alignment of gooseflesh on her arm. “You’re cold.” He said. She nodded in agreement. He got up and went to one of the bedrooms to get a blanket. He covered her with it before going back to his position on the sofa. Sandy swept the blanket off her body and went to sit on his laps. She wrapped…
