Naija Heels On Cobbled Streets #7 By Olajumoke Omisore

“Get me a drink.”    Niyi told Andrew after Clara drove off. He would have darted after her if Andrew hadn’t stopped him. “That’s not a good idea. Ignore the girl. You don’t want to unleash that demon you become when you drink.” Niyi didn’t feel like a demon-to-be. He felt like a victim. The one chosen to be the butt of their joke. His head was spinning as if he had already consumed a whole barrel. “Get me a fucking drink.” Niyi shouted at Andrew with the force of the rage, ripping him apart from the inside. And as soon as Andrew disappeared back into the pub, he turned his attention to the ash bucket next to the flowerbed and kicked it so hard, its content flew into the road. He walked back in, feeling the need to curb the rage that had manifested in his balled fists. Andrew…

Family Secrets #7 By Kycee Q

The Pregnant wife Captain Efetobo thrust the photo face-down on the shelf and then walked into the bathroom. Those were the good old days, he scolded himself as crossed the slippery room and hung his towel. He has to always remember that. For your own good, fool. Turning on the water, the fragrance of his wife’s soap filled his nostrils. He frowned. It reminded him of the night, he had returned home one evening to find her bathing. From where he had stood watching her through the glass door, he could make out every feature of her body: her smooth long thighs, her buxom backside, the curve of her hips, submerged in front by thick dark pubic hairs. She had her lips parted as the water drained down her soft and tender skin. Her hair now short precisely the way he liked it with her eyes shut to the thrill…

It’s Another Saturday…#21

Hi guys! I apologize for not posting Family Secrets. You know how busy I can get. I’ll make it up to you guys. It’s a Very Complicated Something One of the simple pleasures of my life is watching Honey’s morning beauty routine. She doesn’t do much makeup but her skincare regimen is a different matter entirely. She has this array of herbal creams and lotions which she obsessively applies every morning. I think that is why she has a perfectly-even skin tone. My job is to just lie back in bed and watch her exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize; and then I pull her back into my arms just to feel her skin and er…do other things. This morning, she has that look on her face that tells me to basically keep my hands to myself. She hasn’t got time for any extracurricular activity. Peace had sent text messages to all the…

When she felt his breath on her back, she gasped, as sudden warmth coursed through her and said slowly, “I need to get out of this.” He moved even closer and kissed her left shoulder. “Yeah.” She closed her eyes and leaned into him. He wrapped his arms around her…

Secrets #9

“I loved you a whole lot, back then, you know.” She turned her head quickly to him. He kept his eyes on the road, as he drove. “You never said so.” “Not in words.” “How was I supposed to know?” He glanced at her. “I showed you…” He looked away again. “…and if you had stuck around, you would have heard it.” “The last time we were together…” “Yeah, immediately you left, I regretted not saying it back. I waited till I was sure you were home before calling, but you never picked. Then, I sent messages full of…” “Romantic nonsense.” When he cast a sharp look at her, she smiled ruefully and said quietly, “That’s what she called them.” Without looking at her, he asked, “Who?” She sighed deeply. “I told you I didn’t feel so good the last time I was at yours, remember?” He nodded. “You had…

Her mind went back to the conversation she had with Niyi in his office. Standing, facing the wide windows in his office and with his back to her, he said, “I want my son.” When she gasped, he turned and looked at her. The look on his face made her heart sink. “I want my son,” he repeated. “I’m his mother.” “And I’m his father!” She shook her head. “That’s not possible, Niyi. I can’t give up my son.” She stood to leave. “It was a mistake coming here.” He shook his head and spoke slowly, “Don’t even think about taking off with him.” His eyes narrowed. “If you do, I will hunt you… and I will find you.” Smiling slightly, he added, “Then, I will take him away from you.” Slowly, she sat and he went behind his desk, sat across her and they talked. Agnes looked at Niyi,…

“I’m so sorry, Sade.” Eyes narrowed, she shook her head, confused. “What exactly is going on, Niyi? Niyi blew out a breath with his mouth, ran his hands over his face and turned to Kunle, who was staring at Bunmi with a look of shock on his face. “Kunle.” Slowly, he turned his head to look at Niyi and his eyes narrowed. “Yes, what exactly is going on, sir?” “I am your father, Kunle. Your mother and I…” “You brought your mistress to live in my house?” He turned back to an open-mouthed Sade and shook his head quickly. “It wasn’t that way, at all. Agnes has never been my mistress. I had a brief relationship with her and that ended almost two years before you came into my life.” Still looking at his wife, he waved a hand in Kunle’s direction. “Kunle was born, as a result of that…

Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim sisters and brothers! Previous Episodes  Two minutes later, his head came up. “That’s such a joke.” He stared at her for a few seconds, then went back to the will. The room was so quiet, that the sound made by the second hand of the clock, as it moved, suddenly seemed noisy. Kunle’s eyes were angry when he looked up finally. “No way am I doing this.” Bunmi started to speak, but he raised a hand and she fell silent. “It’s one thing to step into the role of a father, to children whose existence was hidden from you, and another to marry a woman, just because her dead grandma said so.” He shook his head. “I understand the bind this puts your family in, but I can’t…” His head moved again. “I can’t do this, Bunmi.” She bit her upper lip before…
